Twenty-one areas. One database. Your machine. Most businesses run eight programs that never talk to each other.
Accounting, e-invoicing, POS, payroll, fixed assets, mileage log — and on the private side household budget, investments, insurance, contracts and retirement planning. All in one local database.
German law applies. This page explains the German rules in English so you can judge whether PilotOS fits. The legally binding version of every page, price and term is the German one.
Accounting & journal
Double-entry bookkeeping on SKR03 or SKR04, cash-basis (EÜR) for small businesses, opening and closing entries, VAT return, and a journal that cannot be silently overwritten — corrections are reversals, not deletions.
E-invoicing
ZUGFeRD and XRechnung to EN 16931. Receiving e-invoices has been mandatory in Germany since 2025; issuing them phases in from 2027. The module reads and writes both formats, and keeps the original file as the legal record.
POS with fiscal signature
Cash register with a TSE interface, cash count protocols, and the DSFinV-K export an auditor asks for. In training mode a simulator signs; for real operation a BSI-certified TSE is required — we say so on the page instead of hiding it.
Payroll
Gross-to-net, social insurance, wage garnishment limits, and the registration with the tax office. Payroll posts itself into the same journal as everything else — no second data entry.
Fixed assets & depreciation
Asset register with the official depreciation tables, straight-line and declining balance, low-value assets, and the investment deduction under § 7g EStG.
Bank import
CSV, MT940 and FinTS. Transactions land in the journal, learn from earlier years, and are ready for review instead of being retyped.
Household budget & wealth
Budget envelopes with a traffic-light indicator, subscription detection, net worth, property, loans and pension gaps — on the same database as the business side.
AI butler & help
Ask in plain language, and the butler opens the right screen and highlights the field instead of printing a manual page. The rule-based butler works offline; optional local AI runs on your own hardware.
What is deliberately missing
PilotOS is not a group ERP. There is no consolidated multi-company accounting across legal entities, no production planning, no multi-level approval workflows, and no replacement for your tax adviser's office software. Where a specialist tool is the better answer, we say so before you buy.
There are also 67 free calculators — from hourly rate to payroll cost — that run without an account and without a server. See the calculators.

The free tier has no time limit and needs no credit card.
See pricing Why local-first?Questions about the feature set
Can I buy single modules?
Yes. The modules can be activated individually — you pay for what you use. Which module sits in which plan is listed line by line in the German feature comparison, generated directly from the tariff data rather than typed by hand.
Can I keep business and private life separate?
Yes. Business and private run as separate clients on the same database, with their own withdrawal and contribution accounts, as German bookkeeping requires. What gets joined is the statement, not the ledger.
Does it replace my tax adviser?
No. It replaces the data entry and the spreadsheet, not the advice. The handover to the adviser is a DATEV file, not a login — the accountant works in their own environment.
Is there a mobile app?
There is mobile capture for receipts, cash counts and the mileage log. The program itself runs on a computer; the phone is the field device, and the data is stored locally on your PC, not in a cloud.
What all 21 areas share
They share one database, one login and one set of master data. That sounds like a technicality until you use it: a customer created in the invoice module is the same customer in the journal, in the dunning run and in the project budget — without an export, without a reconciliation sheet and without the question of which copy is current.
They also share the same rules: the same audit log, the same period lock, the same export. A module that behaved differently would be a second program wearing the same logo, and that is exactly what this architecture avoids.
And they share the same limit: none of them replaces advice. Software can make bookkeeping traceable; it cannot make a business decision for you.
