Most accounting programs lock you out the moment you stop paying. With PilotOS your data always stays yours: bookkeeping that starts free and stays free, fair plans you can cancel any time for more, and local-first without any cloud requirement. The technical prerequisites for the German GoBD and the GDPR are built in from the start — what that means exactly.
Tick off in one minute what your current program can do — and see immediately, in black and white, which features you're missing compared to PilotOS. Result saveable as a PDF.
Monthly & annual cancellable any time · 14 days statutory right of withdrawal · secure payment via PayPal · no credit card needed for the Free plan
PersonalSponsorship statement: Gründerpilot is not a stripped-down extra, but the full Enterprise mode including Jurapilot (contract management), multi-client and the coaching module. Precisely because start-ups, new businesses and smaller companies need full support from day one, we deliberately subsidise this access — as a flat rate, for as long as your business stays below €40,000 annual profit or €150,000 annual turnover. Grow beyond that and you pay the regular Enterprise price for exactly the same system (see below).
Members & dues, donations & donation receipts, SKR42 bookkeeping with sphere separation, corporation-tax and non-profit-status filings. All prices net plus VAT. Tiered by number of members.
Multi-client, coaching & consulting module, Jurapilot (contract management) included, tailored setup and support. Base price €50–250 + per user.
Put together your own package module by module — each of the 96 modules can be switched on or off individually, with an explanation of what it's good for. At the end you see the approximate net/gross price and, if you agree, receive a numbered licence package you can use immediately.
Terms: All paid plans are also available as an annual subscription (2 months free), a 2-year subscription (−25 %) or lifetime. Free stays free forever. Personal: all prices are final prices including statutory VAT; the net price is additionally shown per plan. Business: all prices are net plus statutory VAT; the gross price is additionally shown per plan.
Lifetime: pay once, use indefinitely — including free updates for 60 months (5 years) from purchase.
And after the 60 months? The licence is unlimited in time (T&Cs § 3). Your version keeps running unchanged, with all unlocked modules and all your data — there is no server that can switch it off, because the program runs on your hardware anyway. What ends are the free feature updates; security-relevant updates continue to be provided for a reasonable period beyond that (§ 11, § 327f BGB). Whether there will be a paid update extension afterwards has not been decided — we would rather not write down anything we cannot keep to in five years.
Clients (business): Basic 1 client, Pro up to 3, Ultra up to 10 clients included. Every additional client costs extra — ideal if you run several companies or mandates separately.
Instead of one PilotOS tier you could buy the same feature set from several separate tools. Here are the current market prices of the category competitors — worked out so you can follow the maths, without rounded-up fantasy figures.
For the full personal feature set (budget, asset overview, investments) you would need at least two separate subscriptions:
| Feature | Separate tool | Price / month |
|---|---|---|
| Household budget & budget planning | YNAB (You Need A Budget), monthly subscription | $14.99 ≈ €12.86 |
| Asset overview / portfolio tracking | Parqet Plus | 11,99 € |
| Total of separate tools | €24.85 / month | |
| PilotOS Privat Ultra | all modules incl. Jurapilot (contract management) | €9.90 / month |
| Saving with PilotOS | 24,85 € − 9,90 € | €14.95 / month ≈ €179.40 / year |
Jurapilot (contract management) is additionally included in Personal Ultra, but for lack of a cleanly comparable public standalone price (vendors such as ContractHero only address B2B customers from €390/month) it is not counted here — the real saving tends to be higher.
Sources: ynab.com/pricing ($14.99/month, converted at the rate 1 EUR = 1.1654 USD, as of 28.08.2026 per finanzen.net) · parqet.com/de/pricing (€11.99/month, “Plus” plan, monthly subscription).
For bookkeeping, POS/TSE and tax returns as separate tools, several monthly subscriptions plus annual tax software add up:
| Feature | Separate tool | Price / month |
|---|---|---|
| Bookkeeping (EÜR, VAT pre-return, single/double entry) | lexoffice package L, net plus VAT | 21,90 € |
| POS incl. mandatory TSE + digital cash book | ready2order POS subscription (€35.90) + cash book add-on (€13.90), net plus VAT | 49,80 € |
| Tax return (ELSTER connection, annual) | WISO Steuer 2026, €23.79/year ÷ 12 | 1,98 € |
| Total of separate tools | €73.68 / month | |
| PilotOS Business Ultra | net plus VAT, incl. year-end closing / e-balance sheet & Jurapilot | €24.90 / month |
| Saving with PilotOS | 73,68 € − 24,90 € | €48.78 / month ≈ €585.36 / year |
For comparison: sevDesk offers a similar functional depth with its “Buchhaltung” plan at €25.90/month (plus VAT) — we deliberately calculated with the cheaper lexoffice price so as not to overstate the saving. Year-end closing / e-balance sheet and Jurapilot are additionally included in Business Ultra but, for lack of cleanly comparable standalone prices, are not counted — the real saving tends to be higher.

As of: August 2026. All third-party prices were determined by web search or direct retrieval from the respective vendor's website at the time of research (sources above) and can change at any time — this comparison is a non-binding market observation, not a guarantee. Not counted are PilotOS features for which no cleanly comparable, publicly visible standalone price exists on the market (e.g. Jurapilot/contract management, year-end closing / e-balance sheet software) — the actual saving is therefore likely to be higher rather than lower.
Yes. The Free plan stays free forever — personal and business alike. Paid plans are local-first, without a cloud requirement and without PSD2 re-authentication.
On your hardware or your server — encrypted and versioned. The data belongs to the pilot, not the vendor.
The technical prerequisites are built in: double-entry bookkeeping, signed audit logs and local data storage following the privacy-by-design principle.
Any time. The system is modular — new modules are added without the structure breaking.
No. The fourteen modules under “Life & health” can be switched on individually: the Free plan contains none of them, Basic exactly one. If you only want to keep books, that is all you get. Which module in which edition →
